The Buckeye Book Fair

Celebrates Ohio's Influence in Literature

The annual Buckeye Book Fair is a full day event featuring nearly 100 Ohio authors and illustrators who meet with readers and autograph copies of their latest works. Thousands of attendees from all over Ohio come to mingle, shop for books, and celebrate the joys of reading and writing.

Buckeye Authors' Book Fair Committee Inc was created as a nonprofit entity in 1987 in Wooster, Ohio. The mission of the Book Fair is to showcase Ohio's influence in literature and to promote literacy efforts in Ohio by providing grants to schools, public libraries, and literacy programs.

Notable authors who have particpated in the Buckeye Book Fair include Tom Batiuk (cartoonist of Funky Winkerbean), Sharon Draper (five-time Coretta Scott King Award winner), Bob Feller (legendary pitcher for the Cleveland Indians), Denise Fleming (children's author), Dick Goddard (evening meteorologist at Cleveland's FOX Network), Dav Pilkey (author and illustrator of popular children's series Captain Underpants), and Tom Wilson II (cartoonist of Ziggy).
